Political Stencils: Reflections
I chose this image because it took something political and something that usually had to do with violence and Bansky had added a comedic twist to it. Instead of guns the two men are holding bananas as a substitute. The political statement it is showing is having to do with weapon rights and showing how violence isn't good and we should as a world change that.
I chose this image because it really related to another topic/theme that has gone on for too long which is child hunger and poverty. This stencil is a moving example showing that and that images could speak stronger than words can. The political statement it could be making is showing us about the poverty and hunger many children go through and if not millions. It also is pretty persuasive on a young child and the words no future above her, because who will or bothers to give it to her.
I chose this stencil called "flower bomber" by Banksy because just like the first stencil instead of holding an explosive, Banksy added a twist with the bomber holding a bouquet of flowers, I have the same reason as the first of why I chose it. The political statement it holds is to stop wars and ongoing rage between cities amd countries and to have peace. I think this because Banksy goes to many places in anger and makes these tyoes of stencils.
