8.EE.6. Standard:

Use similar triangles to explain why the slope m is the same between any two distinct  points on a non-vertical line in the coordinate plane; derive the equation y = mx for a line through the origin and the equation y = mx + b for a line intercepting the vertical axis at b. 

Reflection:

 

Something interesting or new that I learned about this topic was that when two lines are both diagonal and they don't meet at all at the y axis then that means that they have no solution or are a false solution when looked at through a different standard or view. That is either something that I learned that was new or something that I have learned before in our math class but then throughout time and the many standards we've learned so far, I have forgotten.
