About Beatriz Lema Durant: 

I was born in San Francisco in August 7, 2001 to a Filipino family. I grew up and went to Kindergarten at Dr. William Cobb Elementary, but in 1st grade I went to Creative Arts.  I love to draw and write, and I like to spend time with my family because spending time with them is important. I also like to do photography sometimes and enjoy reading really good books. For high school, I'm really aiming towards SOTA for Creative Writing.

 

Why Math is cooler than you:

Math is cooler than you because it helps us all live and survive in this world, and when I say this I mean it's like a language that we should all try taking or be fluent in at the end of our time in school. Math also has art in it and I love art and anything that has to do with the arts or English in general. Math is also in nature and basically anywhere in the world, so it's hard to avoid and sometimes you just have to like it, no matter what! But ever since taking the Stanford courses, I felt like they've really helped me with my view on math. 

 

Why am I an artist?:

I am an artist because many people descirbe or call me a creative person. I also like to do anything that involves arts or seems artistic so I guess that answers how or why I'm an artist. I also go to Creative Arts and in our school we value or teach people to incorporate arts in their studies. Adding on, as a child I loved to recieve those large art supplies and draw and use numerous amounts of paper and have absolutely no limits when it came to my artwork, or atleast that's what my parents have told me. I also want to aspire to have a career in the arts maybe like an author, or an artist, but author sounds more fun to me.
